JOY
-uh-fy /
(verb): to make or bring joy to our day

Most days start off well, then ...
Somewhere down the hall I hear it. "Hey Alex, quick question".
It always starts small. A quick question. An email "just circling back". A subtle shift in tone.
And just like that, the weather changes. the storm rolls in.
My storms usually start from

My manager
Some days they’re in every detail. Other days, I’m left figuring it out on my own. One moment I’m trusted, the next I’m second-guessed. I leave meetings with more questions than answers.

My coworkers
So many styles. There’s the one who repeats my idea like it just came to them. Or, the one who agrees with me in private, then goes quiet when it matters.

My leadership team
Big words fill the room. Vision. Strategy. Alignment. And somewhere in the middle of it all, I’m left trying to understand what next week’s to-do list should be.

My friend
The one who listens. Who lets me say it all out loud, again and again. They can’t stop the office drama. But they hold space long enough for me to remember … I’m human.
When the storm rolls in
It isn’t just around me anymore. It’s in my head.
Thoughts start swirling.
And for a moment, I go with it.
But not for long.

One day ... things started to change
I realized I didn’t have to stay in the storm.
A friend helped me realize I could teach my brain a different way – a way through.
And now, I don’t fight it.
And I don’t ignore it either.
This is Sam
Sam loves the brain, studying it, learning about it, talking about it.
When I’m dealing with office drama, Sam is figuring out what my brain is up to.
Sam says there’s nothing wrong with me.
This is how the brain works.

The invisible threat
That look or that tone isn’t a lion chasing you, but to the brain it’s the same threat, invisible to you.
When the brain senses danger, it instantly flips into autopilot to protect you.
You’re not broken.
You’re not stuck.
The brain is always learning
The brain can learn a way through the storm.
It just needs a map.
The map teaches the brain to build a path.
Let’s connect autopilot to clarity.
Move through the storm, faster.
